11 months...

and the most beautiful...
baby...
in the world (some people say I'm biased...I don't know what they're talking about...
come on, I know you agree...I promise I won't tell anyone)!

Morning Converstations...

Micaiah joined us in our bed this morning while Eli was having his bottle.
"Do you remember when he used to hold my finger when he was little?"
"Yeah, he's growing up fast."
"I think he's the fastest growing baby in the world!"
I guess Micaiah is catching a glimpse of why I always tell him..."Don't grow up, I want you to stay little!"

Learning to Read...

is so exciting...
...especially when you get to say...
over and over again!

The beginning of...

...his life on the water! Micaiah went tubing all by himself this past weekend. Before he went out he made sure we understood all of "his" hand signals (and believe me...he tested them out)! Wes and I chatted about how this is just the beginning of his adventures on the lake.

I know his eyes are shut in this picture but it captures his joy and sense of accomplishment so well!

I am so thankful for you in my life!

Ice Treasures...

I came across this idea and thought the boys would enjoy it...they used salt, small droppers of warm water, a spoon and rubbing the ice with their hands to uncover the hidden treasures. I had no idea how much Eli would participate...he loved it!

Eli and Josh working while Micaiah refilled the dropper...

Micaiah tapping on the ice with the handle of the spoon to try to uncover...

the snake!

It's a...

daily ritual...our afternoon walk around the block. The neighbors know we'll be making our rounds between 3 and 4pm. The boys always take something...today Micaiah chose the bubble wand and Joshua chose the tractor.
Micaiah showing off his bubble making skills...

while Eli babbles "up a storm"!

I didn't realize...Joshua had filled his tractor seat with animals to take on the walk...

Josh always seems to need a break at this point in the walk...while he was resting Micaiah came and told me he had to pee...I told Josh to "hurry up" that we had to get back home...

and he proceeded to take his animals out one by one and place them on the sidewalk...each time saying "and God made the butterfly, and God made the zebra, and God made the ______"

... how adorable is that?

As I stood there enjoying the moment (and taking pictures of course)...I hear Micaiah scream...

"You guys better hurry or I'm going to pee my pants!"

"Children form...

a great deal of their understanding of God as Heavenly Father by what they see and hear from their earthly fathers." Steve Farrar

As you can see from this picture...this boy loves his Daddy! In fact he told me tonight before bed.."I love Daddy more than anyone else!"

(That's ok buddy...my prayer is that you would say the same thing about your Heavenly Father one day)!

Double the Fun...

Micaiah and Gus had a blast together this weekend at the lake...
swinging in the hammock...

floating in the tube...

and even tubing behind the boat (at a very good speed I might add)!

and our boy that hardly ever naps anymore...was out cold for the ride home!

How to open a birthday present...

"I'm so dizzy I can't even see! Would you please tell me what it is?"

Eli's first ride...

in the boat! I know what your asking..."why is this his first time on the boat, you've been going all summer? Well two things finally fell into place...1) Eli wasn't taking a nap and 2) the boat was running!!!
He is such an inquisitive little boy...

look at those eyes...intensely taking it all in...(I know his hair is pretty cool too)

until he just couldn't take anymore!
