Cousins...

These kids have so much fun together. I love when they have a couple of days to hang out...

Week 46:52 {Trees}...

framing this little country church so beautifully.

 Eden United Methodist

Wes remembers sitting in this little church with his grandma and grandpap over 30 years ago...last row on the right. At her funeral he sang "The Old Rugged Cross", just like he did at her side as a little boy. It was a beautiful tribute.

Frain Boys...

I feel like I know these boys as well as my own. Our families home schooled together for a couple of years so we were together a lot.  It has been a blessing for our boys to line up on soccer and baseball teams over the past several years. This has allowed us both to stay somewhat sane during a very busy season in our lives...plus it's a blast for the boys.  Most importantly though, the mom of these boys stepped in during one of the most difficult times for our son Joshua and loved him so well...lifting him up and encouraging him and I watched his confidence soar.  We are forever grateful.

During our time together for pictures we worked hard to capture genuine smiles and authentic boy craziness.

Lin Family Session...

We met the Lin family over two years ago when we moved to our new elementary school. Our oldest two boys were in class together. Now we have kids in kindergarten this year. As I write this I think about how much the kids have changed over those two years and am thankful Lisa contacted me to get updated pictures of her beautiful family. We were working around their youngest nap schedule and daylight savings time so we shot in mid-day sun which posed some challenges but we made the most of it. We met in one of my favorite spots of our neighborhood...the gardens of the Pot Spring Mansion.

William's Class...

I made it into William's class for a little bit for American Education Week.  It was fun to see him in the classroom.  He has the same K teacher Eli did.  We are so thankful because she is amazing with the kids.  She gave the kids an assignment to write a "friendly letter."

Dear Mom, I knew you would be here today.  I love you!  I am so glad you are here!
Love, William

Week 45:52 {Soft}...

this is a photo from a recent family portrait session that came to mind for this prompt.  It's full of "soft"...soft focus, an airy feel and light colors.  This little one was the "tough" one out of the families four kids to get an authentic smile...and this is a glimpse of one.

Afternoon in the Woods...

We had another almost 80 degree day in November. Eli had a midday doctors appoitment so we decided to make the most of the afternoon.  And before you ask about the socks...its a detail that we want to remember:)

Hike with Bella...

I had an hour before the kids got home and a 70 degree day in November. So thankful I chose to do this...

Soccer, Soccer, Soccer...

Because Wes helps coach both Eli and Josh's team I'm often the one running Micaiah to and from his games and rarely see the other boys play.  I made it to a game when my dad was in last weekend and took some pictures.  I hope to make it to some of Josh's last game this Saturday.
