tonight we met at Panera for dinner in between Micaiah's drum lesson and Wes' worship practice for church this weekend. Dinner with three young boys is "chaos " in the nicest sense of the word. Let alone dinner "out." So we're sitting at dinner and Micaiah and Joshua are each telling stories over top of one another as Wes and I try to catch up and keep Eli from throwing his drink (because he did it once and it made a really neat sound against the plate)...
when Joshua turns to Wes and says "Do I get to play the Wii tomorrow?" Well for those that don't know Joshua's requirements to play the Wii are 10 minutes on the couch looking at books quietly AND he must keep his underwear clean. So Wes responds with a question "Well, did you keep your underwear clean today?" Just as he finished his question to Joshua, Micaiah started to tell Wes a story from school. I am sitting across the table from Joshua and realize that he has pulled his pants down AND stuck out his behind (so Wes could get a really good look) the problem was
1. we were in a restaurant
2. everyone was eating dinner
3. Wes had no idea that Joshua had done this because he was now engaged in Micaiah's story
I am crying by this time and trying to communicate to Wes that Joshua's "clean" behind is in clear view of the restaurant. Wes confirmed that he will indeed have time to play the Wii tomorrow and helped him pull his drawers up...as Joshua starts singing "I kept my underwear clean, I get to play the Wii tomorrow!"
Yeah just another one of our "adventures with boys!"
