Today along with the Gratitude Community... I will praise Him for who "He is"...I am so grateful that we see glimpses of Him and His magnificent work in the souls of his created beings this side of heaven. This is a beautiful video called "He Is Here" by spoken word poet Amena Brown set to Gungor's "We Will Run"...
"He is Here" friends...if we'll only have eyes to see...
He is here
He’s right here
In this room, in your heart
He is near
Nearer than breath, heartbeat
Nearer than you are to you
Closer than second chance, or next opportunity
Closer than tonight or yesterday
He is real
More real than touch, see, hear, smell, or taste
More real than reality—he is our reality
More real than joy, pain, sorrow, or the love of being in love
He is present
Like space, wind, time, silence, night
He is waiting
Like creation, like words on the tip of tongue
Like songs that have yet to be sung
He is beauty
In oranges, blues, every hue, every shade
Sunset and sunrise whisper his name
He is holy
Cannot be touched, explained
Like sweet seconds of prayer
like grandmother on knees, wood floor bare
He is old hymns
The extending of limbs stretched across trees
Stripes to heal disease
He is Son
Distinctly three, distinctly one
The only one, the only wise, the only resurrector of lives
He is king
And no earthly throne can house him
No amount of elegant words can espouse him
He is moment and voice, power of choice
In word and deed, in fruit and seed
Nailed hands, nailed feet
Innocent wounds that bleed
He is believe
He is all, he is call and purpose
Everything we can sacrifice—he’s worth it and more, much more
Our good deeds are mere pennies, will never even the score
from the sunroom yesterday morning as the sun was coming through the trees...absolutely beautiful!
"Let
us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely
as the SUN RISES, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter
rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.". Hosea 6:3
"But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.
For what you have done I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people. And I will hope in your name, for your name is good."
Psalm 52:8-9

"waiting is fundamentally wrapped up with knowing,
trusting, and believing in the Lord and His person (His character) and
in His promises...
The ability to wait on the Lord stems from being confident and focused on who God is and in what God is doing.
It means confidence in God’s person: confidence in His wisdom, love,
timing, understanding of our situation and that of the world. It means
knowing and trusting in God’s principles, promises, purposes, and power." Bible.Org/Waiting
do as the Romans do." Yes, I've heard it before but I have to confess it's really difficult to be the odd "man" out.
You see...not only am I the only girl in our house of 6 but I am also the only Steelers fan. Yes, you read that right. I grew up in Pennsylvania cheering on the black and gold with my family. In fact, I used my grandfather's Mean Joe Greene jersey as a nightgown.
One summer, I waited on Dan Rooney at JB's Steakhouse andgot a press pass to training camp. Those were the days of Greg Lloyd, Kevin Greene and Levon Kirkland. I had a blast and came home so sunburnt that I didn't leave the couch for a few days.
After 15 years in Baltimore and 4 boys later...my husband is an avid Ravens fan and the boys love their daddy so guess what...I'm odd "man" out again! Wes has tried many times to lovingly push me to the dark side but I haven't budged.
But something happened after the game on Sunday evening when I heard the Mayor of Baltimore say that the victory parade/party was scheduled for Tuesday. I thought...It's a once in a lifetime opportunity for the boys (especially for the Ravens...oops sorry that's my competitive nature again). I said to Wes "we should take the boys." I kept thinking if we had lived in Pittsburgh when they won the Super Bowl (any of the 6 times that they did) I would have loved to have been there!
Long story short...Wes was busy with meetings and couldn't get away from the office. I decided to figure out a way to take the boys...I frantically tried to find a sitter for Will to no avail. I called a friend and encouraged her to bring her two boys along (for help and her moral support).
So together we devised a plan and went on a wonderful adventure that I'm sure we will all remember for a long, long time. Because seeing the happiness on their face when the Ravens arrived was priceless...not to mention Will (2) who joined in every chant erupting from the crowd.
After Wes rescued us from the delayed Light Rail train he asks me..."So now are you a Ravens fan?"
"No babe...but every once in a while when I'm in Rome...I'll do as the Romans do...because I love you guys!"
"Little kids are different.
Because the world is a new place for them, they notice far more detail.
They have to see these details because they haven't yet learned to
abbreviate the visual complexity of the world down to simple symbols
like desk.
Unfortunately, for a photographer, the visual complexity of the world
is also the raw material for your photography. So you don't want your
brain to abbreviate your experience, you want it to see every detail.
In other words, you want to learn to see again, as you did when you were
a kid." Ben Long
