The Waiting Game...

At this point in the pregnancy the number one question Wes and I receive is "Have you decided on a name yet?" When we respond..."No"... people seem to think we're keeping it a secret. The truth of the matter is the only part of the name that has been decided is that boy #4 will take his dad's first name as the middle and will continue the trend of using "Mace" as the last.

So this is where you come in...Wes and I have decided to have a little fun as we wait out these last few days. Fill out the poll below to cast your vote for boy #4's name.

If you received this via email please go to the blog at www.wjmace.blogspot.com to participate in the poll and of course, we still reserve the right to make the final decision...

The Beauty of a Good Story...

I just finished reading A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Donald Miller...in this book Miller shares what he learned while editing his life. He talks about a friend that has "writtten more than five hundred pages of memories...because if he forgets them, it's as though they didn't happen..." Many of you know that this is one of the main reasons I started this blog...there is power in remembering...so you can imagine my joy when Micaiah said "Nonny I want to start writing in a diary."
Just to give you a little background. Our first read aloud was Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White...I think this will always be one of Micaiah's favorites. In the story there is a little boy, Sam Beaver (many of you may recall the name from when I was pregnant with Eli...remember Micaiah wanted to name him Jack Beaver?) Sam Beaver has a habit of writing down the days events just before bed each evening. So when we borrowed the story from the library recently it sparked something in Micaiah...

that I'm sure he will treasure in days to come!

All in a Day's Work...

Eli "making a line"...
every once in a while you find a car in the bin that makes you laugh...
oh and when older brother comes to practice drums you just put on your headphones and keep on working...

because the bin isn't empty yet!

Timeless Traditions...

Resurrection eggs...I am so thankful for tools like these to teach the boys more about the "Greatest Story Ever Told."

Joshua literally spent hours with these today discussing the resurrection story. At one point he looked at me and said "Do you know that Jesus was pierced for our transgressions and crushed for our sins?" This is one of his favorite songs (Isaiah 53:5) from the first Glory Revealed CD.
