The boys racing to the mailbox to mail a response back to Poppy. My dad has written poems to the boys pretty consistently through the years. Most often after he's visited...the boys will receive a letter from him about their time together. Such a sweet memory...

2 Hour Hike...

 The boys were off school today and my dad was in so we decided to take a hike to the reservoir to fish.  

There are a lot of options from our house but Eli remembered a spot that we had been not too long ago.  I recommended that we take a certain path (thinking it would be shorter).  It wasn't!  So the boys endured a very rigorous hour long hike to the water only to get there and realize that the water was so low the fishing wasn't good.  Double whammy.  I promised ice cream and extra screen time if they could make it back to the car.  

Thankfully we did find a shorter path on the way back.  We got milkshakes and ice cream and everyone stared at a screen for an hour or so when we got home.  Hopefully they'll remember the ice cream:)

Morning Fishing...

Such a perfect late morning treat for us all.  The boys went fishing with Poppy while I snapped pictures in the fog.

Week 36:52 {Shapes}...

  This first picture is {Shapes} for my Project52...

I always notice more laughter when my Dad is here...this time was no different.  Especially when Will insisted on being the catcher and calling the pitches for the game of wiffle ball between the boys.

 Here is a little video of the action on the field that day...I shot the video in RAW with my camera so the quality is poor but it's funny!
