Happy 9th Birthday Eli!
You had your first soccer tournament of the year over your birthday weekend. You wanted a drone, a fit bit a bow and arrow and a trip to the fair with just your daddy!

First Day of School 2016-2017...
Some of the boys were more excited than others about the first day of school. But I should report they have all transitioned well...much better than last year in fact! We have an 8th grader, a 6th grader, a 3rd grader and a 1st grader. They are in 3 different schools and their buses come at 6:50, 7:30 and 8:15 so the morning feels like it's one continuous cycle of crazy...

Will's Birthday (The First Few Days)...
A few days ago William was in tears because he wanted to change his birthday to the next day. It was just too far away (3 whole days). His brothers surprised me and fought FOR him so we decided that we would indulge William and celebrate his birthday over several days. We decorated the house a couple of days ago, let him choose a special breakfast another day and today we took a trip to the Lego store (with some of his birthday money).

As we approach his 6th birthday we are celebrating that his first loose tooth (that has been hanging by a thread for days) finally came out!

Week 52:52 {Rejoice}...
As I conclude this weekly photo project it is only natural to reflect on the past year. We have so much to be thankful for this year but the biggest of them all is how the Lord answered our prayers for this sweet child.
This school year has been such a welcome change for him. It has been a blessing to watch him excel in so many ways. His teacher told us at our parent teacher conference that she feels like he is the type of kid that the school was built for. Seriously?! It has been a long sometimes arduous journey but the Lord has demonstrated his faithfulness to us yet again.
Just today, Joshua was getting excited to return to school and I said...
"Joshua I am so thankful that you like school that much." To which he replied...
"Yeah, God really answered our prayers."
Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Week 50:52 {Self Portrait}
well not really a self portrait but I am actually in front of the camera this time :) We enjoyed an evening out this Christmas season and it was lovely.

William's Class...
I made it into William's class for a little bit for American Education Week. It was fun to see him in the classroom. He has the same K teacher Eli did. We are so thankful because she is amazing with the kids. She gave the kids an assignment to write a "friendly letter."

I really can't believe that our oldest turned 13. Wow, time flies when you're having fun!
Our neighbor made him a beautiful soccer cake.
He received a present that he was a little excited about:)
and he played some soccer...
