9th Annual Yough Lake Trip

This is one of our best yearly traditions...the only thing better than time on the lake is time on the lake with close friends. This year the "Yough Lake Board" decided to do a "couples only" trip...we missed some friends...

but we had a blast!

We decided to have a little "jumping contest"...
BP...a couple of months ago we would have never guessed he'd be performing stunts like this!

Nicka... showing off her "splayed finger jump!"

Justin...not only did he "rescue" this ball but he took one for the team with this jump!

Wes...also took one for the team!

I joined in the contest too!

Jason...AKA Mr. Miyagi!

but the winner was the creator of the contest...Erin with her incredible mountain leaping jump split!

A night out...

at the Boathouse at Breech Inlet between the Isle of Palms and Sullivans Island...here is the Jordan clan before dinner...

...Aunt Susan watched our boys so Wes and I could have a "night out"...she didn't realize that Folly would have a really bad storm with significant wind and rain that left them without power at the condo...

she did a great job of calming Micaiah's fears...and Joshua was only upset that "Peter Pan" wouldn't come back on!

Cypress Gardens...

after walking through the butterfly house, aquarium and reptile house...Daddy, Micaiah and Joshua explored the swamp in a flat bottom boat...

Micaiah was pretty excited about using the paddle all by himself...(although Daddy was really tired after maneuvering the boat through the swamp "all by himself")...

but it was a beautiful trip!

Mommy and Eli wandered through the trails...we came across this wildflower garden

Eli decided he needed a souvenir...

Eli...

feeling the wind off of the ocean for the first time...

raking in the sand...(I love those little rake prints!)

realizing his playground for the week is full of new things to explore...

...and crawling right in!

Micaiah...

even plays baseball at the beach...

he did take a break to make a sandcastle fort with Daddy...

... to "Dolphin watch" with Mom Mom and Max (the fin of the dolphin is in the background)

... and to fly a kite "all by himself."

Joshua...

little boy...big ocean...there is something about this picture that demonstrates to me just how big our God is!

Josh digging in the sand with all of his "presents" from his "friend Aunt Susie"...also the photographer for this picture

chasing a bird on the beach...

...and of course our little nature lover couldn't go a day without seeing some sort of wildlife! Here he is with what looks like an anenome that washed up on the shore.

...he finally decided to rest with Daddy

wait a minute...I think he might be "recharging!"

Pool time...

It's funny these are the first pictures I have of the boys at the pool (we've been going the past two summers)...it's just not a safe time to take pictures. Tonight we met Daddy at the pool for dinner...so I had an opportunity to capture some of the fun.
Micaiah is our very cautious swimmer...he is extremely anxious about going under the water (Wes and I were encouraged to read that Michael Phelps did not like to put his face in the water at the age of 6)...but he loves to swim with his life jacket on.

This is not a great picture but it really captures Joshua's free spirit. He loves the water and has been practicing going under.

Eli also enjoys the water but was a little cold after about an hour so he decided to watch Daddy and the boys...as you can see he had a blast (sweet potatoes still on his face)!

I think they're ready for a week at the beach!

The end of baseball season...

Even though the games are over...Micaiah hasn't stopped thinking about baseball! Micaiah drew this picture yesterday morning...Brian Roberts #1 (1 B) is on the pitcher's mound and Micaiah #2 is batting at home plate (M 2).

While I chatted with a friend after lunch today he drew this one...the orange coloring is supposed to show you that the sun is shining and the brown is the bleachers.

It is so much fun to see his creative mind at work!
