Wildlife at the Lake...

Saturday night...Right as we were getting the boys in bed we heard an owl calling. It must have been so close! The boys watched and listened for a few minutes...Micaiah tried to return it's call to see if it would come closer and Joshua did too (although he was saying "Who cooks for you"). Micaiah told us that if we saw little green diamond shaped eyes that would be the owl.
Sunday morning...It's 7 am in the morning and Micaiah is making the trek from our camp to Poppy and Mom Mom's camp...and right in the middle of the road is a turtle...it didn't stay in the middle of the road for long...it went and burrowed itself into the side of the hill...

Joshua is our animal lover...as you can see he sat down right next to it (in his jammies)...he assured me that the "turtle was not scary, it was happy." We kept an eye on the turtle throughout the day and by the end of the day you could hardly see it at all...we marked the spot so we could watch it this summer in case it laid any eggs...

Sunday afternoon...while we were docking the boat we saw "Mrs. Mallard" and all of her little ducklings.

We decided we need to keep a list of the wildlife we see...last time we were there we saw a wild turkey and last year we even saw a Bobcat crossing the road...
