William and the Blizzard of 2016...

His eyes continue to fascinate me.  The color is so different than the rest of us.

These last two pictures were taken as William was coming back in from outside. I shot them through the glass door. I fell in love with the softness of these and the emotion it evokes...

Happy Birthday Will...

Will turns one hand.  Even though he still insists that he's four!  We celebrated Charleston style...we spent the morning at the county park playing on the playground and the afternoon at the beach.  We had pizza with family while watching an episode of Ninjago and then topped the night off with cake and presents.

Trains, Trains and More Trains...

It seems like all little boys go through a fascination with trains.  Some more than others.  

Our oldest loved Thomas the Tank Engine and all of his train friends.  Our second liked trains but not as much as the first.  Boy #3 was much more into making the tracks that the trains would run on than the trains themselves.  Boy #4 has taken the train fascination to a whole new level.  

We have spent many afternoons riding the light rail train.

 But he loves steam engines better than diesel or electric trains.  Especially the Western Maryland Steam Engine.  

For example, we went to the library the other day and he said to the librarian at the information desk...

 "I want a train book but the train can't have eyes, a nose or a mouth."  

 So she led us to the adult section and he left with a handful of books that he was thoroughly excited about!

So anytime we pass through Cumberland we make it a point to chase the steam engine.  He has recently become a little more anxious about hearing the train whistle so sometimes he demands to watch the train from the car.  This time while we were waiting for the Steam Engine a CSX train passed by...

 The boys played while we waiting for the steam engine to cross the railroad bridge and then we followed it to the station to see it up close and personal.

Swinging...

This afternoon was the first time we hit close to 60 degrees after a long, cold winter.  I'm sure "winter" will visit again but we made the most of today.  

 

While the boys were all playing in the yard and the sun was dipping low in the sky, I grabbed my camera and took pictures in between Will's requests for pushes "higher, higher!"  Eli was performing silly stunts (throwing various objects into other objects) and Will was laughing  hysterically.  I wish I would have snapped a few pictures of Eli but I didn't think about it at the time.

Fall Farm Field Trip...

We joined Will's preschool class at the farm today.  Will thanked God tonight before bed for the tractor ride...his favorite part of the trip.  Enjoy a little glimpse into our day...

Will Turns 2...

Here are a few pictures and a video from our celebration with Will yesterday.  We spent the morning at the aquarium and then enjoyed cupcakes and presents in the evening.  

His brothers were so excited for his birthday...because of their excitement...Will "enjoyed" a round of "Happy Birthday" as we checked out at Trader Joe's (from the employees and the people in line)...and another round at the Aquarium.

 

Singing...

So the other day we were sitting at the table eating lunch and I realized that Will was "singing" something.

I said to Eli..."I think Will is singing us a song."

So we both sat there listening intently trying to make out what he was singing.

We listened for a few minutes and then Eli said...

"He's singing Beautiful Things Mama!"

Today I found him singing it again as he played in his little car in the sunroom...enjoy the video below and may it be a reminder to you that we can worship Him at any time and in any language! It is all beautiful music to His ears...

Sun Flare...

Something keeps drawing me back to this even though the sun flare goes across his face...I think it's the wonder in his eyes...
