Multitude Monday #4456 - #4485...

"When good is found and we embrace it with abandon, we embrace the Giver of it. It's our prayer that you find God everywhere.
Yes, in church on Sunday at 9:00 am, but also in the seemingly mundane. In traffic on Tuesday at 5:15 pm. In a parent-teacher meeting. In the colors of a sunset. On the other end of a tragic phone call.
Every second is an opportunity for praise. There is a choosing to be made. A choosing at each moment. This is the praise habit. Finding God moment by revelatory moment, in the sacred and the mundane, in the valley and on the hill, in triumph and tragedy, and living praise erupting because of it.
This is what we were made for."
~ David Crowder

Project 52...4/52~Joy...

JOY is...
Waking to your 9 1/2 year old boy saying,
"Mom, wake up!  You've got to come into my room and see the sunrise.  It's beautiful!"
And then spending the next 20 minutes with him in his bed watching the sky ignite into a glorious array of colors.

"Let us acknowledge the Lord;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
    he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.”

Hosea 6:3

...coming across this quote...and knowing that it's just the beginning of our vulnerability as parents...
To love anything is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it up carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable."
- C.S. Lewis

Dude Perfect Auditions...

The past few days the boys have spent hours videoing themselves trying some stunt shots.  They have been inspired by Dude Perfect...a group of 5 friends that have gone viral on YouTube with their trick shot videos.

It was so much fun to see/hear their excitement.  They asked me if they could try some crazy shots...I only allowed one of them (with strict instructions to not repeat it without parental supervision).

Wes and Micaiah spent time this afternoon creating this movie to showcase their talents.  Take 2 minutes and watch the movie...comment and let us know which shot was your favorite!

Project 52...3/52~Inside...

I decided to join My4Hens  as I journey through this years Project52.

I read a quote by Brene Brown recently that said...
"in order to cultivate creativity...it's important to find and be a part of a community, take risks and feel vulnerable and new and imperfect."

M4H provides a new theme each week to encourage you in your creativity.  This weeks theme is INSIDE...

I have always been captivated by the color of our youngest sons eyes.  Part of the fascination comes from having four toe-headed boys that are all so similar in their coloring.  This little guy is  the only one with a strikingly different eye color.
This picture...these eyes...remind me to STOP and LOOK for the beauty in the everyday.

Project52...Week2...

"In every walk with nature
one receives far more than he seeks."
~John Muir

I took this photo while on a family hike at the reservoir this afternoon.  Most of the time I like to shoot wide open but when I saw the sun bursting through these massive trees I decided to switch to a smaller aperture and shoot for the "starburst."

check out the beginning of this project...

Project52...Week 1...

“Practice isn't the thing you do when you're good. It's the thing you do that makes you good.”
~Malcolm Gladwell

So I'm on a journey to complete a photo a week for every week of the year.  52 weeks.  I thought this may be a safer starting place (even though Project365 was tempting).  It is my intention to post the picture from Project52 either on Saturday or Sunday of each week.

Today, I found Eli in a self made couch fort reading a book of riddles...
