Fort McHenry...
We had a 60 degree day in the forecast and knew we wanted to spend the afternoon outside. We decided to explore the grounds of Fort McHenry with the boys.
053|366 {Apart}...
The boys challenged one another to jump over the canon opening while visiting Fort McHenry. Thankfully our oldest son has pretty long legs because it was far apart!

052|366 {Free Choice}...
Yesterday was in the 60's and it was glorious. We spent the afternoon exploring Fort McHenry. The warm sun and fresh air is always so good for the soul.
Independence...
I mentioned in my last post that Eli made a smoothie for lunch. Here are a few more pictures of the process.
He didn't know I was taking pictures until he started drinking it...so thankful I got a few.

Today Eli decided he wanted to make a smoothie for lunch. He asked for help to get the blender and took care of the rest of the process by himself.

Blurry Goodness...
and love between brothers. Even if it only lasted for these few seconds...I have to believe that deep down they love one another:)
049|366 {Pattern}...
The younger boys learned "sport stack (cup stacking)" in PE. While practicing at home they took it way beyond the 3-6-3 and then decided to destroy the stack with one shot of the nerf gun.

We have had some difficult family dynamics here lately so when I saw these two loving on one another, I grabbed my camera.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,
plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." ~Jeremiah 29:11-13

043|366 {Amazing}...
Micaiah taking the time to help his brother learn to snowboard. He
really wanted to see William try. In the morning William had no
interest. Then while I was inside that afternoon I saw William
snowboarding down the back hill. Micaiah convinced him to try and was
very patient and encouraging as he made multiple attempts. It's so nice
to see them caring for one another when sometimes it feels like all they
do is fight!
Another Snow Day...
The boys have enjoyed breaks from school and a chance to perfect their snowboard/sledding skills. This last snow was perfect for a snowman.
One of my favorite memories from this winter will be Micaiah taking the time to teach William to snowboard.
Another fun memory was when I looked out the kitchen window while making dinner...I noticed the snow man's stick arms moving but didn't see anyone moving them. When I went to the door to inspect I heard William pretending to be the snowman. He had hid himself perfectly. We had a good laugh.

Micaiah and I had a discussion today about moving the Super Bowl to a Saturday so you wouldn't have to go to work/school the next day...

Winter at the Playground...
The boys spent the weekend with Grandma and Pap. Micaiah had some homework to do before school the next day and Eli was hanging with Wes so I took these two to the playground. I have to admit once the temps drop I forget that this is a viable afternoon play option. They had a blast for a bit...

037|366 {On Repeat}...
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
Joshua 1:9
Every once in a while the weight of parenting a child with disabilities presses down hard. After a string of events over the past few weeks I find myself in that compressed spot. I can quickly spiral into negative thinking forgetting that I serve a God whose promises are true. The God who is faithful when we are faithless and most importantly the God that promises to be with us wherever we go.

I love sled riding. Anyone with me? Snow gives me a reason to escape hibernation mode, bundle up and play outside.

While sledding with the boys the other day I had a thought...
"When the boys are older and gone from our house, will Wes still go out and sled ride with me?"
I asked him later that evening and although he was surprised by my thought process...he promised he would.
I still can't figure out why I'm in the front of this sled train (probably because I was next in line) but thankfully nobody got hurt!
