It was great to see you yesterday. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words about the boys...we love you!

Eli...

this morning while I was getting him dressed he threw a temper tantrum when I started putting his diaper back on...he kept saying "pee pee!" So, I did what every responsible parent would do and gave in and put him down without a diaper.
He ran to the potty and sat down (now this is the child that brings me the diapers and wipes and lays down on the floor when he needs his diaper changed).
He sat for a while and then he ran off to play. I heard him yell "Mommy" and when I found him he was pointing to a little pee on the floor...
well, everyone has to start somewhere right?

Poppy's idea of a day off...

playing inning after inning of kickball in the sweltering heat! I laughed so hard when I came outside and saw them like this.
Poppy took his shirt off because he was too hot...it was funny to see the boys join in.

Josh has a new ride...

We are so excited that he is big enough for the trail bike! Eli loves the bike seat and thankfully Micaiah's quads can handle riding his bike for a couple of miles...family rides are back again!

Jam Session 101...

On Sunday we packed up Micaiah's set and drove over to a friends house for the boys to play music together...it was amazing to watch it all come together.

In this picture below, Micaiah is singing and playing "Father of Lights"...(don't worry the face paint is from a birthday party prior to the Jam Session)

the musicians...

I have a feeling, Micaiah might request a night like this every once in a while!
Josh sang his rendition of "I Saw the Light" after welcoming friends (like Daddy welcomes the congregation on Sunday) and giving directions to the band...he kept saying to Micaiah "B-Wack, (David Crowder's drummer) you play the beats!"

TJ intently played the "beats"...

and Eli and SK took a turn while the older boys were eating dessert!

The Kelly Cup...

On Sunday we watched our first pro-cycling race...

the boys enjoyed the race...but it paled in comparison to...
BikeTrails...

little boys dream of doing tricks like this...

at first Micaiah was pretty upset that they didn't pick him...I think he was glad when he saw this!

pretty amazing...
Now...how long do I have until they start building these contraptions in our backyard?

Butterflies and More...

Micaiah pointing out his favorite insect in the exhibit...

the world's largest moth...the Atlas Moth of Southeast Asia...he liked it because the markings on its back resemble a snake to scare away predators.

Mommy's favorite...the Blue Morpho Butterfly, wow what a beautiful blue!

You what?...

As the boys were moving through their nightly routine...
I asked Joshua,
"Did you brush your teeth?"
To which he replied, "Yes, now I'm getting a drink."
Then I noticed that he still had gum in his mouth so I asked again...
"Joshua did you brush your teeth?" If you did, then what did you do with your gum?"
And he quickly replied, "I placed it carefully behind my ear."

An Evening Walk...
