I recently posted a video of Eli learning to pedal the tricycle...well it didn't take long for him to decide that he was ready for the big boy bike...we might be back to family bike rides a little earlier than I thought!

"Boppy"...

It's been around for 8 years...since the beginning for him...and yes, that's "Boppy" not blankie just like "Nonny" not Mommy...he's always had a special way with names...

this is the same Boppy that was left in a hotel on our way to South Carolina...we thought it was gone...we bought a replacement but had to stop at the same hotel on the way home to retrieve the real one...the same Boppy that has made it's way to SC, WV, PA, FL, OH and MA...

the same Boppy that was so kindly given to William when he first slept in his crib...because he was "too old for a Boppy"...and then the call for Nonny to come upstairs long after the lights were out because he wanted it back...but was torn because he felt Will needed one...

they spent the morning patching the holes ...

to ensure there will be more memories to come...

Big Boy...

Eli visited the dentist this morning...

he did a great job. The dentist said he "was a great helper."

Those of you close to Eli know that he couldn't have chosen a better word to describe him! We remind him all of the time that when God made him...He made him the best helper.

Eli's Day at Work...

Work started at 8:45am...

he worked right through snack break...

he occasionally asked for assistance finding pieces
he did not however want help in placing legos...he took his job seriously

first finished product...all one piece legos at this point

then, after a mid-morning walk with his little brother and some lunch he decides to make another layer...
then he pauses for his afternoon nap...and then begins another creation...

and another one before dinner...

yes...he placed every single one of these pieces

First Day of School...

Today was Micaiah's first day of 2nd grade and Joshua's first day of Kindergarten...
Micaiah did an incredible job making sure that Joshua was "uniform ready"...

Walking into school...

Mrs. Mund spent some time getting to know Joshua yesterday at orientation and had an animal dictionary waiting for him this morning...

I think that it's no coincidence that his name tag was a monarch butterfly...such a sweet reminder of Kelsey on the 6th anniversary of her passing (a note we found recently that my grandmother wrote about Kelsey said this..." A precious little girl with freckles on her pretty face. A dreamy, funny, happy little animal lover..." sounds a little familiar doesn't it?)

Miss Der had Micaiah writing about summer fun shortly after entering the class...he was excited to see that his desk was next to his buddy Ryan...

and this is what I saw at carpool today...

he jumped in the car and said..."Nonny, I had such a great day!"

Soccer...

Josh had his first soccer practice tonight. We were going over some rules prior to practice...
Mommy says..."You need to listen to your coach and obey what he says!"
Joshua replies..."Yeah if he tells me to 'go get em', I'll go get em!"
